IN MEMORIAM

BOUDREAUX 1991 - June 8, 2006
Boudreaux far outlived the 8 year life span
typical of Foxhounds. I credit Patty for his long life since she let him come
live in freedom at the farm instead of in my fenced in back yard where he was
pining for wide open spaces.
He was a prince of hounds who lived in peace
and harmony with all his fellow creatures. He had many adventures in his long
life which endeared him to the humans who shared it. |

GOOD BYE, IKE - WE'LL
MISS YOU
"RUSTLER'S ICY PRINCE" 1987 - JULY 7, 2005
|
We lost Ike this morning. He was fine last night but
this morning when Patty went out to feed, she found Ike down flat. We sat
out in his pasture with him until the vet got there. Patty shaded his head
and gave him water while we waited. He tried to get up several times, but
just couldn't. He had been retired because of a neurological injury
suffered several years ago and he served as the farm "babysitter" because
of his sweet, gentle, and patient nature. Apparently, he either re-injured
himself or something from the old cervical injury snapped or something.
The vet said he was paralyzed and put him quietly to sleep. He had a
wonderful dressage career with Patty, winning many championships including a Silver
medal at the SWDC championships. They were just beginning their Prix St. George
debut when he was hurt. He lived at the farm for 16 years. |
